Maersk Defender is on long-term charter to Alcatel Submarine Networks Marine A/S. Ulstein in Norway built the vessel in 1996 according to in-house specifications. Maersk Defender is a highly advanced cable ship equipped for deep-sea fiber optic cable installation, cable maintenance and post lay burial operation. The vessel is ideal for installation of medium to long haul systems.
