Alcatel believes that, within the current constrained operating
environment, new investments in networking assets have a critical
effect on costs and revenue opportunities as service provider
networks migrate towards a converged, multiprotocol label
switching (MPLS)-based network. Alcatel’s solutions
can help carriers evolve their networks to:
- Offer new services ubiquitously across the network, at
both new points of presence (POPs) and over legacy, installed
base network assets
- Enable support and extension of existing asynchronous
transfer mode (ATM)/ frame relay services and introduction
of new Internet protocol (IP)/MPLS-based services to become
simply two elements of a common network migration strategy
- Allow operations to implement a smooth transition to a
consolidated network architecture
- Provide a unified approach to a portfolio of services
that are independent of infrastructure deployment constraints

The Alcatel
7750 Service Router (SR) is the industry's first IP/MPLS
router designed and optimized for the delivery of advanced Internet
and virtual private network (VPN) services. The Alcatel 7750
SR is available in four shelf sizes: single-slot, four-slot,
seven-slot and twelve-slot, all of which offer a wide range
of interfaces with unmatched density and performance. With a
software and hardware architecture designed for efficient delivery
of service level agreement (SLA)-based services, the Alcatel
7750 SR functions as both a powerful Internet router and a flexible
service delivery platform.
The Alcatel
7670 Routing Switch Platform (RSP) is a highly scalable
and configurable switching and routing platform designed to
provide carriers with the utmost flexibility and investment
protection when building their infrastructure.
Any service can be provided, including Internet protocol (IP),
multiprotocol label switching (MPLS), asynchronous transfer
mode (ATM), time division multiplexing (TDM), frame relay,
Gigabit Ethernet (GigE), 10/100 Ethernet, and packet over
SONET (POS). Alcatel provides carriers with the ability to
preserve their existing data, video and voice services through
industry-leading traffic management and to hitlessly scale
their network in-service to meet the exploding growth of IP
traffic. Alcatel's unique product architecture enables service
providers to migrate at their own pace toward their chosen
type of core network.
The carrier-class, packet-based Alcatel
7470 Multiservice Platform (MSP) provides a proven single-service
or multiservice broadband traffic aggregator and convergence
platform. It is capable of delivering managed Internet protocol
(IP), voice and video, asynchronous transfer mode (ATM), cell
relay and frame relay, as well as circuit-emulation services
(CES) over traditional time division multiplexing (TDM) and
synchronous optical network/synchronous digital hierarchy
(SONET/SDH) facilities.
The carrier-class, packet-based Alcatel
7270 Multiservice Concentrator (MSC) provides a proven
single-service or multiservice broadband traffic aggregator
and convergence platform. It is capable of delivering managed
Internet protocol (IP), voice and video, asynchronous transfer
mode (ATM), cell relay and frame relay, as well as circuit-emulation
services (CES) over traditional time division multiplexing
(TDM) and synchronous optical network/synchronous digital
hierarchy (SONET/SDH) facilities. |
